I'm attempting to use the "Export to a Microsoft PowerPoint slide" option, but am getting the following error message:

"Unable to get text of the current shape"

Any suggestions?

In the mean time, I've exported as an image and stuck this in to my slides, but Id be interested if anyone could shed any light on this problem.

Cheers

Does the message appear at the start of the export or for a specific slide?

Can you email the part of the map causing the problem.

I'm attempting to export the whole map as a single slide, rather than use the wizard which creates a multi-slide presentation

What I tried:

- Use the wizard
- Export all levels
- Switch to Generate Slides Manually
- Change first slide to Header with Image
- Delete all other slides (May be easier to do this after export to PowerPoint)

That will export a single slide.  You can then remove the title from the first slide and you will have just a map.

As for the error, you may have a topic with no text or some other setting which confuses the export.

Andrew,

No joy, I'm afraid.

I'm only given the option of a maximum of 2 levels for the Map Image, within 'Image Source'....

So, better than nothing, but not the full map.

 Huh? Huh? Huh?

Each of the exports poses its own restrictions.  Normally maps intended for PowerPoint should be no more than three levels. Each Main Topic is a slide plus one or two levels of bullet points.

To convert parts of your map into images, select a parent topic, press F4 (which makes everything else disappear), then export as image.   If you can insert a linked image in PowerPoint.  Then if you edit the MindManager map and re-export to the same file name, it will automatically update the slide.
