Maps too large for Ecademy pages.  Can hide sub-topics and show simplest form of map by saving as jpg, uploading to Flickr and inserting URL in the normal way.  Complete maps can be hosted on web sites, with URL "behind" the image on the Ecademy page, but how best hosted?  Two ideas occur to me.
1. Store on web as pdf.  Would this have to be the fully exposed map or can it be clickable?
2. Store on web as html.  Would this appear as a web page?  Would it be clickable?  Is Map4Web used in this process?

Yes but you could save it as several (poster) pages so that the text can be read.  It will not be clickable.  You would have to add clickable text to the PDF.  Export the map to Word.  Print to a PDF printer which creates hyperlinks where they exist in the original document and then combine the two PDFs.  Messy!

MindManager's export clickable image map may be enough.  This creates a web page plus a text file which can be inserted in a web page which maps to the image file.

Mindjet lab also have an exporting tool which converts the map in to an Active X component which only works with Internet Explorer.  Here the database of the map is used to created the map display in a window.  The user can do a few things including open and close branches, zoom and print.  Map4web has this included option in its range of exports.

Thanks for response.  What is a clickable image map?  I tried:
A. Exporting complete map with fully exposed sub-branches to a clickable image map and found the branches would not click condensed, unsurprising as the branches had lost the active bit to click
B. Exporting the simplest map with fully condensed branches to a clickable image map and found the branches complete with the expansion bit that would not respond

Neither looks very "clickable" to me.  "A" will do the job I am sure... ish.

Clickable for this export means: if there is a hyperlink on a topic, a click on the map after export will take you to that link.

The functionality you require can be achived using http://mindjetlabs.com/cs/files/folders/mindjetlabs/entry50.aspx Mindjet Active X Viewer export in MindManager 6.  A recent comment suggests this does not work in MindManager 7.  Also note the viewer only works in Internet Explorer.

The Active X export is built in to Map4Web (which also only works with MindManager 6)

This export creates an Active X viewer object in a web page (like a Flash object, YouTube etc.). The original map file is called by the viewer and you get limited viewing and printing capability.  You can control level of detail just as you request.
