First in MindManager Options > Save > Enable "Always create a backup copy .BAK before saving maps".

Whenever you save a map, a copy will be made in the same folder with the extension ".mmap.bak"

You edit the map for a while and you do not like the result (do not save the map)
or the file becomes corrupt.

You may then want to return to the last saved version of the map.

Close the current version of the map and do not save.  You could save a copy or save with a new file name prior to this.

Use the toolbar option "Open an exisiting map"
Change the File Type to "All types"
Change the name of your "duff" file to *.mmap.old
Delete the "*.mmap.bak" file to "*.mmap" and open this map.

Like one of my clients you will now be looking at the map you saved x minutes/hours/days ago.  Two days ago in her case.

For some maps you may also wish to save revisions as you progress with its development.  Use Save Copy to to create a copy with a version number or date in the file name.  Don't change the file name of the current map.  You may be linking to it.
