If you enable Apply Filter Rules in the Options ribbon, you can use the Power Filter in MindManager to hide completed topics or just show priority one topics or just Bill's tasks. There are several task parameters by which you can filter the view of the map:

1. Completeness

2. Resource

3. Priority

4. Start and Due Date

5. Duration

You could use the Power Filter to:

1. See George's tasks

2. Tasks due this week

3. Incomplete tasks

4. Priority one tasks

In JCVGantt there are some useful actions in the View ribbon:

1. Show critical path: this highlights the tasks which are limiting the duration of the project. If one of these tasks increases in duration the project will end later. If you make one of these tasks shorter you reduce the length of the project. Another good tip for reducing project duration is paralleling tasks. Think Formula 1 pit stop. How long would it take if they had one mechanic changing all the tyres? 2 minutes. They have 8 men, 2 on each tyre. 10 seconds!

2. Jump to selected task: Select the task in the list of or on the Gantt chart and click Jump to selected task.

3. Show current date: Click this to make the left hand edge of the chart today's date.
