Mind Mapping – A Structure for Thinking, Understanding and Managing

Mind mapping - A structure for thinking, understanding and managingOn Wednesday 25th March 2015 I was invited to present to PMI UK Chapter South hosted by eni engineering e&p ltd  in Basingstoke on “Mind Mapping – A Structure for Thinking, Understanding and Managing“.  It was a delight to be welcomed back having presented “Cephalopodic Project Management – Using mind maps and mind mapping software for project management” in 2014.

Forty post working day project managers attended.  After the personal and mind mapping introductions, they were asked to mind map a personal and business issue. There was much feedback and discussion but unfortunately I couldn’t combine presenting and facilitating with recording what they were! Must ask for volunteers or bring a beautiful/handsome assistant next time. This was followed by a quick review of some mind mapping software products and maps produced by them.

Tip for MindManager users: I used the Presentation mode for the right hand side of the map and pre-set my slides. To maximise your use of the projector or monitor (in this case) make sure you know the screen aspect ratio (16:9 in this case).  Then set up a “page” to match this. ISO paper sizes are 1:1.4142 or 16:12.73!
